Established in 1925, the Penang Badminton Association (PBA) is Malaysia’s oldest state badminton organization and a founding pillar of the national badminton movement. Our legacy helped shape the formation of the Badminton Association of Malaya in 1934, now known as the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

For nearly a century, PBA has championed the growth of badminton in Penang, nurturing talents and organizing tournaments at all levels. From grassroots programs to prestigious competitions like the YONEX-SUNRISE PBA Penang Junior and Closed tournaments, we remain committed to fostering excellence in the sport.

As we mark our 100th anniversary in 2025, we are celebrating a century of sporting passion with a series of special events, including a centennial gala and national logo design competition.

PBA continues to evolve with the times, guided by our rich heritage and a forward-looking vision to inspire the next generation of badminton champions.
